Orthodox Christians celebrate the Baptism of the Lord on Epiphany (feast of Theophany), meaning God made Himself manifest in three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - when Jesus was receiving baptism.. On the night of January 18th-19th, traditional renewal of Baptism began for everyone and will continue through the 26th. They recall the New Testament story of the baptism of Jesus Christ in the waters of the Jordan River.
