May 2, 2021 - Over 80% in Russia are practicing Christians. Russians use the liturgy from John Chrysostom (347AD-407AD). He received the liturgy (how church services should be done) from St James the Apostle who was also Bishop of Jerusalem. In Russia they don't call it Easter, they call it "Pashka" (Pascha) which is Greek for "Passover". Jesus was celebrating Passover before he was crucified. Passover is when Moses told the people to mark their homes with lambs blood so the angel of death can pass over them. Jesus Christ was the paschal lamb who willingly sacrificed his life for us. He destroyed the power of death and allowed all who believe in Him to enter paradise in Heaven as sons and daughters of God.
