"Where Are You, My Love?" is a popular Russian song. March 8th is a holiday in Russia. Commonly known as International Women's Day, this holiday has been celebrated since the days of the Old Soviet Union. It's a mix between Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. This past Monday, many police, military and volunteers handed out flowers to many Russian women. Many speeches were made celebrating the many benefits they gave the world. An old Russian saying I once heard was that a Russian woman was as sweet as an 8 year old girl but strong enough to stop a running horse and brave enough to rescue people form a burning building. Their bravery was exemplified in WW2. Without question, they are truly feminine, graceful and down to earth. They reminded me of the way Grace Kelly was.
