However, you don't even have to be a tin foil hat-wearing conspiracy theorist to use critical thought and realize that nothing about the satellite images proves the globe or debunks flat earth. For a start, we do not see any stars, which should be entorely possible given today's technology. Globe defenders will shout "exposure" as an excuse for these multi-million-dollar satellites not being equipped with cameras that can also see the stars and send us back glorious photos of what would be a spectacular view of space. The Himawari satellite images also do not show city lights. Only darkness. Surely, if a satellite can give us detailed images of clouds, then city lights should not be a problem. Let's also look at geostationary satellite balloons - a technology that has been around for a long time. In fact, Nasa's first "satellite" was Echo 1; a balloon inflated in space after being launched by a rocket. So why, if balloons worked, and were called satellites, would there be a need to change the technology? The simple fact of the matter is that the images from Himawari are easily created by collating weather data from weather radar and weather balloons. It certainly is a long way from debunking flat earth. Anyone who cites the Himawari images as proof of a globe is really lacking in any critical thought and discernment.
