Cognitive estrangement in fiction involves using a person's ignorance to promote suspension of disbelief. We are told the horizons of man are not limited to this physical earth. So, does the moon landing belong squarely at the top of mankind's greatest achievements or a was it a $150,00 billion dollar swindle on the American taxpayer?
