After soaking this PP surgical mask in 70% alcohol, I analyzed the fabric using my digital microscope at 1000x magnification. Loose embedded black fibres were found throughout the mask on the interior and exterior. There were several dozen of these fibres that became visible only when the white Ethylene oxide powder was washed away using the 70% alcohol.
It is clear that these black fibres are similar to nanographene particles and can move under specfic changes in temperature.

What is disturbing and alarming is the fact that they become free flowing from the fabric and thus can easily be inhaled into the breathing pathway of any user, child or adult.
