Weather control with lasers is a scientific concept that involves using laser pulses to influence atmospheric conditions. This could potentially be used to create lightning, trigger rainfall, or seed clouds.

Using high-powered lasers to start the rain. Dave Malkoff reports from the University of Central Florida’s College of Optics & Photonics where researchers have developed a new technique to aim a high-energy laser beam into clouds to make it rain or trigger lightning.
