I have read a few books about the Leo Frank Case and have found that this book is the easiest to illustrate. The anonymous author wrote the book in an action filled and nonjudgemental style. There are myriad resources available including historical photos and newspaper clippings which add validation to my designs. When possible I have photoshopped the actual participants onto preexisting images to create imaginary scenes with that ring of truth.
