I've spent years looking at trends, numbers, technology, geopolitics and the direction I believe everything is moving. After connecting those dots, I keep coming back to the same period. I call it the “Breakthrough Event.” My prediction is that November 2029 represents a major turning point when several developments we've been watching separately begin converging. One of those developments is robotics. I believe we're heading toward what I'm calling “Robot Wars”—military exercises, demonstrations or conflicts where increasingly sophisticated robotic and autonomous systems are pushed closer to the front line. Aircraft, ships, ground systems and other machines could increasingly operate with less direct human involvement. Then there's artificial intelligence. And then comes the part I'm particularly concerned about: Quantum computing. My prediction is that when sufficiently capable quantum computing begins interacting with advanced AI, robotics and today's digital infrastructure, we're going to enter territory most people aren't prepared for. Security. Encryption. Information. Identity. Communications. I believe the consequences could move incredibly quickly. I'm also predicting a period of what I call “mass deception.” As AI-generated video, audio and information become increasingly difficult to distinguish from authentic material, determining what's real could become one of society's biggest problems. To be clear: November 2029 is my prediction. It is not an established scientific timetable for quantum computing, robotics or AI, and I'm not claiming there's proof that a particular event has already been scheduled for that month.
