Housing and the stock market are going to crash, says Ted Oakley, founder of Oxbow Advisors. "Don't underestimate, right now, safety," he says, "There's a lot of precarious situations." He predicts a sell-off across financial sectors as people rush to safety. "You need to survive to play another day."

As controls and seizures of bank accounts become more common, Oakley predicts "gold will stand out" as an alternative preservation of wealth. He has a price target of $5,000 per ounce for the yellow metal.
