Remember seeds from the field are not washed and have farm chemical residue on them. I washed, then soaked and washed again before getting to the actual growing. I also add Hydrogen Peroxide to my batch to keep any unwanted contaminants to a minimum. Plus I had the luxury to change the water daily.

With supply chains drying up across the planet and mass buying happening here in the US, seeds will eventually be in short supply as well.
