In the middle of a cold November night, a gas pipe in the basement of the McNamara home in rural Manitou Springs sprung a leak. A barely lit flame causes a spark, and within minutes the entire house is engulfed in flames. Inside, two adults and a four-month-old baby are sleeping. Their Alabai dog wakes them up with barks and howls, and the adults manage to get out of the house before collapsing. The baby is still inside, helpless. But the brave dog dashes into the inferno with no regard for himself. And what happens next will stun you to silence…
