The man realized immediately that the situation was deadly. His chances of survival were slim. The giant Grizzly female was on her hind legs, towering over him. She threw her head back and roared. The man could go nowhere. His legs were pinned beneath a fallen tree. All he could do was wait for the inevitable. Then, against all odds, the bear did something unbelievable. But that’s when he noticed the patch of white fur on her chest - a patch he’d already seen on another bear, one he had helped during a difficult labor one year earlier…
