No Middle Ground In Washington Politics

Today in Washington D.C. there is nothing but gridlock and partisan politics. Instead of doing what's right for America, both parties try to "one-up" each other on major policy issues such as border security, health care, climate change, abortion, and so many others. Can anything bring the country together? I'm becoming more and more pessimistic as the US seems so bitterly divided.
