Suicides in the U. S. are increasing at an alarming rate. They're up over 25% in the last two decades. In 2016 the number of suicides in the U.S. hit 44,965. What is causing the rise in suicides? There are a number of factors and reasons that experts point to. Many professionals believe that the rise in mentally illness is the biggest contributing factor in the number of suicides occurring. This video will look at other reasons as well.
