Cleo Smith, the 4-year-old girl found alive in Carnarvon (wrongly stated as ‘Geraldton’ in this video), after a 3-week-long abduction, was visited by Western Australia’s benighted Premier, Mark McGowan, using his government jet. It is my opinion that the Premier went on this expensive excursion to bask in the glory of the success of the mission to find Cleo, with no regard to the exacerbation of the likely psychological harm already done to the child and her parents. The excuse that he went to thank the police officers doesn’t hold water, because he could have done that by video link.
