The phone rang in the middle of the night, followed by the horrified screams of Bob Arnold’s wife, Jeanne. “What are you saying?” she cried. “Marcie’s not dead!” The man on the other end of the phone was the coroner in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and he was calling to break the news that Bob and Jeanne’s beautiful 23-year-old daughter, Marcie, had suddenly passed away from an undiagnosed heart defect.
