Late afternoon of a hot day in Perth, north-eastern suburb of Beechboro, and what luck! I was returning to my car after a cup of tea in this park, when my eye caught something odd from a distance. On closer inspection, it turned out to be a long-necked tortoise laying its eggs in a hole it dug, and covering them up, and even tamping the soil down afterwards.
