Good day from Kamakura, Japan, on this Saturday, August 15th! We’ve had quite a bit of rain this week, but thankfully, the garden stayed safe from the storm. Plus, the rain has made it a bit cooler, which is a welcome change. It reminds me of summers back in the day, about 30 or 40 years ago, when summers were much more bearable. I popped into the garden center to pick up some more fertilizer. And I’ve started planting my autumn seeds. And to beat the rest of the summer heat, I got a new fan to help my second floor AC reach other rooms upstairs. Are you also noticing how the daylight hours are getting shorter these days?
A garden is a grand teacher. It teaches patience and careful watchfulness; it teaches industry and thrift; above all it teaches entire trust." Gertrude Jekyll
