In this segment of an upcoming lecture series I address the issue of who the "sons of God" were in Genesis 6. Some say they were the "good sons of Seth" who mated with the "bad daughters of Cain." However, this is a relatively new theory. The much older, and far more textually supported view is that the "sons of God" in Genesis 6 were in fact angels. And when these "beings from the sky" came down unto the daughters of men, the offspring they produced were the Nephilim, who were the giants/gods of the ancient world.
