If you want to defend the State of Israel, you constantly have to build capabilities that are stronger than the capabilities of the enemy — and of your enemies.

They attack you when you are weak, and they respect you when you are strong. They also make peace with the strong.

You do not make peace alliances with the weak. Therefore, we have to constantly increase our strength.

Türkiye is a strong and capable ally. They have the second-largest military in NATO next to the United States.

And they’re anchoring a very important region of NATO territory in the southeast. That being said, they also have a very capable and important defense industry that can produce ships and ammunition and the things that NATO allies need.

Türkiye is a great ally, good friends. They work very hard here at NATO.

You know, we have a great ambassador in Türkiye, and I really think that things are in a good place. But the most important thing, obviously, is the president-to-president relationship that President Trump has with President Erdogan.
