Typhoon Kammuri made landfall on the Philippines’ southern island of Luzon on December 2, 2019. It brought heavy rainfall and strong winds gusting up to 240km/h (149mph). A storm signal 3 on the local five-level warning system was raised.With the typhoon expected to near Manila by around midday on December 3, the capital’s airport announced it would have to close for about 12 hours.Typhoon Kammuri also forced some competitions to be suspended at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, which started on Saturday, November 30 in the Philippines.
